We have extended the deadlines until the end of February for our poetry contests!
Enter any or all of these now:
Words from the Wise: What is the legacy you want to leave to your children? Or in general to the youth of this Earth? What guidance, encouragement, warnings would you want to pass on? What is so important that it needs to be known and remembered generation after generation? Or is anything – should the young just re-create their own way, without burdens from the past? Whatever your stance, let us know in this contest.
Sizzling: If you like it hot, you have found your theme. In this contest, we welcome romantic rhymes but also sizzling stanzas, lewd lines and naughty notes. Your poem can be erotica, love poetry (or lover poetry); it can be personal, voyeuristic or day-dreamt. This is an over-18 only contest, so don’t be afraid to steam the windows a little.
Nobody’s Shadow: Our first contest for poets under 18 year of age is titled Nobody’s Shadow. The theme is centred around independence, but without losing sight of the other that one must contrast against: a shadow needs a sun. Tell us of your experiences, expectations or lack of them. Tell us about your hopes, fears and dreams, but importantly, tells us about how you feel. Enter here!
Tall Tales: Are the tallest tales the bravest, with the highest stakes and most valiant outcomes? Are they stories about small people daring to dream big? Or is your idea of a tall tale a more cynical one that eschews recounting morals and achievements. Let’s come together with our multiple interpretations of the topic. Enter here!
Good luck!
